Whats it worth? 2004 XP *NEW*

Have found a 2004 XP brand new with zero hours. Been stored indoors since 2004. Obviously the value depends on how bad you want one of these. I was thinking 6k Max

    Any comments appreciated...

That's a very interesting find. I have an 03 XP DI that I bought new. The 04 is a DI also and not liked by most folks because when something goes wrong, you are in trouble. Even when its was common to see some DI models, either RX, XP, or GTX, it was difficult to find anyone that could or was willing to work on them. The Orbital injection system is very proprietary requiring specialized diagnostic tools. It is NOT for the home mechanic. I love my 03, but if something electronic goes out, its most likely toast. Parts are very difficult to find and BRP stopped supporting them. A replacement fuel pump is almost impossible to find and will cost you a grand.

The DI model XPLs are a bit slower than their carb siblings, 60 vs 62 mph. You have to remember that it is a 14 year old ski even though it is unused. If you like XPLs, buy it. It is worth what someone is willing to pay for it. Since I have one, I would be willing to pay $4-$5K for it. If I did not own a DI, I would look for something else. If you pass on it, please send me the sellers info via PM.

I loved my xp-di. Ppg lvl2 and she was fun.
not one issue with it, but they are known to be a pain in the ass.

I'm not worried about the DI engine issues. My concern would be to buy this ski at a premium as it new, and then begin to use it the value will quickly drop to any other similar used ski.

Rule of thumb on finds like this....

Pretend it has 50 hours on it. That’s the price you should pay. Because when it has 50 hours on it after you rode it, that’s all it’s worth. Maybe a few hundred bucks over.
