Cool SX-R 1500 Searon Tach/Hour Logger (MAX RPM) installation went well.

SX-R 1500 Searon Tach/Hour Logger (MAX RPM) installation went well.

Since we have zero RPM log capability on MaptunerX for Kawasaki I hadda go buy one of these logger for like 21$ Amazon. I eventually added a 2nd one cz the SCOM I'm using from R&D for my 310 makes dash MPH and RPM and log worthless so doing the 310 next. I gotta see what max RPM and Speed and temp humidity elevation I'm getting since running 74-75 with stock prop so this data is critical for me and prop selection and WOT top speed. Even though I spent the dough for this Maptunerx and SX-R 1500 lic I'm not ready to dive into the 310 yet with already have a SCOM in that boat and flying pretty good with stock prop near 75 mph so not quite yet convinced this MaptunerX with MS109 tune will beat the SCOM I already spend $ on but rumors say it can like more 77-78 MPH range ... more to come

Hadda bab a blob of silicone with velcro to get view angle I wanted.

Installation is easy must wrap 1 cyl coil head not the ignition wire. Wrap the head 3-4 times I cut off excess secured with zip ties and 100% black silicone. The Chinese instructions are worthless must google to figure setting for 4 cyl 4 stroke but seems to work well and will log my MAX RPMs every .5 seconds and can be cleared.

Used some fuel tubing to protect wire came out pimp!

Getting some VP MS109 equivalent Sunoco 260GT-Plus. I can get the Sunoco 260GT-Plus for $53.42 5 Gal down the street from my house vs MS109 is over $115 5 Gal jug! I's the same stuff oxygenated same the Sunoco my burn a tad quicker in theory... I'm not paying double for VP! I have Sunoco Nascar Sonoma track and dealer in my backyard!

Cool mods $$. I did my own nozzle modification on my machine and got a 4MPH gain, GPSed. I have a post on it here somewhere.

109 sucks major a$$ to get in california. Your best bet is to call "red triangle" in fresno for a drum. They're the main VP distribution hub and its around 750 or so for a 54 gallon drum. Worth the time for me to drive 4hrs to fresno then 45mins to Benicia for that liquid gold

Hmmm... I called triangle in Fresneck lol j/k... $720.95 55 gal MS109 plus tax not in stock about $13.5 per gal. Ramos fuel distributor here Fairfield delivers 5 gal pails to me for about $10.5 per gallon next day and stays pretty fresh this way as well. This type fuel(s) MS109/ 260GT Plus only has 1 year shelf life and they use additives to help moisture and oxidation cz of oxygenated % and has some ethanol too. This summer when I'm running every week I may buy 55 Drum from Ramos and save more dough!

I'm picking up the fuel pails and hit the water today gonna be near 71F. I'll get some WOT runs on this MS109 MaptunerX tune RPMs and top speed data. I still have stock prop and Impros will get this prop for tune up after I get David some data RPM/Top MPH and see if he can shave me another 1/2 mile an hour top speed with custom pitch he decides will fit me best.

Cool 8320 MAX RPMs at 62.7 MPH on Maptunerx MS109 tune and Sunoco 260GT Plus 104 Octane

8320 MAX RPMs at 62.7 MPH on Maptunerx MS109 tune and Sunoco 260GT Plus 104 Octane. 69F 67% humidity sea level high tide

Before I make any comments I would like to say this MaptunerX MS109 Tune ran perfect and I held throttle WOT like "little joey" hydro dragged this and it did not blow up so that's pretty good start IMO. I had to really wiggle that MPH cz first run said 58 MPH but not sure what was up and had full tank but 62.7 was all she wrote in the end.

At first I'm a bit disappointed since I've seen youtube videos with R&D R2 ECU and Air filter guy does 62.4 on a warm day so not really seeing much difference that I paid more for touch screen and 10$ per gallon for oxygenated race gas. But it's not Maptunerx's fault I'm not hitting their 8800 RPM rev limit either. I don't care for loud skis anymore and it gives the sport a bad reputation so removing the water box plan isn't going to happen. The boat sounds pretty badass as is and you know it's a hot rod when it starts.

Maybe I can take this data to Dave at Impros and see if he can shave me that 1/2 MPH top speed WOT I looking for and get me closer to the higher RPMs (8800). I need a shorter prop to do that and then see how much HP motor I have to get to those RPMs. Outside of making some final changes with impeller pitch, I have a fancy R&D R2 ECU performance which IMO first glance is a bit of a "safe" tune and was expecting a bit more aggressiveness with the timing at least on this MS109 Race SX-R 1500 tune on very touted oxygenated Race fuel.

We'll see what the experts say about data and what I can wiggle with stock exhaust and custom pitch prop and Maptunerx also said they will make a custom tune for me so I do have that in my back pocket if I can get HP and RPMs high enough. More videos coming soon! I'll post some thrashing vids soon! Yesterday I hadda find the right setting for the Searon RPM gauge had zero instructions and on the last run I got it finally when sun was going down! The freaking water was cold! I had wear the wetsuit!

    This ski is so Gorgeous!

Oh by the way, all the handling improvements we really well! Today was the first day with new sponsons, nozzle, grate, plate, 4* bars, ODI grips and steering plate. It is way more predictable boat while keeping the SX-R dip/dive characteristics. It was a huge improvement!!! I never properly siliconed the grate and plate yet cz of plan of impeller going to Corona Ca to Impros. So I do have that process improvement to look forward too as well after I get my prop back

Cool 7670 RPMs at 62.7 MPH 70F sea level 67% humidity

7670 RPMs at 62.7 MPH 70F sea level 67% humidity. The data I had earlier was not good data I had the wrong code plus had wired it wrong. I thought it had head cylinder coils like my BMW... WRONG! I saw coils on wall so I installed the tach wires all wrong it was supposed to be wrapped on wire and the code sheet was crazy hard to find online google finally found it...

So I confirmed the Riva guys and Maptunerx tech say nothing can beat their Skat 13/17 tune 65 MPH at 8000 they tried all the shorter and taller impellers and this boat is just too heavy. The weight and saturation point 65 MPH is the Holy Grail with the Skat Trac 13/17 on a stock motor or "limited". That would take all the fun out of the edit map license if all is already perfected most saying even engine work and cams only see 67 MPH so might havta go with the flow on this. I have 330 RPMs to match the Riva Holy Grail 8000 with their 13/17 Skat and my boat is holding 62.7 MPH now with stock prop. More to come...

I personally build my own drones, "hexacopters" (6 rotor drones). I like having 6 rotors, instead of 4, because if a prop, motor or ESC fails, it will still fly. The quads, if one fails, down she goes.
It's my son's BDay tomorrow - maybe Best Buy has extended warranty plan for these Mavic drones! He said he will video us shredding on Ski Skis on the delta glass I'm looking fw to so testing drone footage
