The new 2018 Sea Doo ST3 Hull - The best Sea Doo ever made? My review inside!
What do you get when you combine Sea Doo's S3 hull with their T3 Hull? You get an incredible ski!
This new platform really got my attention. I've ridden every Sea Doo model produced since 1998, when I owned my first Sea Doo, and my personal opinion is this is THE BEST Sea Doo they've ever made!!!
There's so many things I like about it. First off, the handling. This new platform is 3" shorter than the previous RXT, it's nearly 1" wider and has a lower center of gravity. The drivers seat is 1.5" lower than the previous model and the passenger seat is 3" lower. The new hull is a whopping 86 pounds lighter than the previous model. All of this, coupled with the newly designed ST3 hull translates into an incredible handling machine. It carves much like the RXP (T3) hull and handles chop and wakes better than the old RXT (T3) hull. While we tested these skis on the Colorado River, not exactly ocean conditions, we were following a huge catamaran jet boat which threw up a very large wake for us, plus the chop of 25 other skis buzzing around. What stood out to me was the stability and predictability of the hull, it was basically "point and shoot" across boat wakes without any side to side uneasy feeling. The ski just railed through the chop and was very confidence inspiring, no uneasy feeling.
I fell in love with the optional sound system. It's extremely well designed and the speakers are angled perfectly towards the riders ears. It's very clear, and loud and connectivity was super easy with Bluetooth. If you are going to try and save the $700 and skip the audio system option... don't be foolish! It's worth every single penny and you will be very glad you have it.
Another great thing I love about this new ski is the direct access front storage. It's ingenious!! The front compartment folds forward giving you direct access to your items. No more leaning over the handlebars fumbling around trying to reach items down deep in the storage. I absolutely love this feature.
The new Sea Doo LinQ system is incredible. Carry extra fuel, ice chest, extra storage, etc. Everything is easily stored quickly and easily and is very secure.
These two videos show how cool this new system is
Towing wakeboards is also super easy with the Sea Doo tow bar system
Here's a good video of the new ST3 platform which shows many of the features of this new platform!
Now, I know you guys are going to ask. Has Sea Doo impressed me enough to get back onto another Sea Doo? Yes, they sure have. Here is the one I choose, and YES, mine will have the optional sound system

I hate to ask - but are there any supposed downgrades in your opinion?

How about consumption vs the s3?
Max speed?
Will the deep v hull be a negative aspect ? Not talking about flashing the Ecu....just one st3 vs s3.
How about the very small storage capacity?
An anchor with ropes and that's all about it?

The ST3 is 86 pounds lighter than the S3. It will have better fuel economy. It also accelerates 17% faster from 30-60 mph due to the lighter weight and more efficient Hull design
As with previous models, US models are speed limited to 69 mph and International models are speed limited at 72 mph
I see no negative aspect of the deep Vee design, only much improved handling.
The storage compartment still looked very large to me! You also have additional rear storage on the back deck with many of the optional accessories. You don’t have this luxury with previous models.
