    ZXI 1100 handling improvement

I bought my 98 zxi 1100 ~ june this year. It was my 1st ever experience riding a pwc so I didn't have anything to compare the handling too. I have put ~ 25-30 hours on it so far and have been sort of disappointed with the handling. I found the trim was adjusted pretty low compared to the manual specs so I adjusted it to where it was suppose to be. Didn't make any real difference to the handling but It seemed a little faster. My tach and speedo don't work. I bought another 98 zxi 1100 a little while ago and got to ride it once so far and immediately noticed a huge difference in how it handled / felt. Both machines are completely stock, rideplates, intake grates, and sponsons So I knew that wasn't it.

Tonight for grins I decided to crank my trim out 4 turns on the screw to see if it made any difference. WOW In my case it was like a totally different machine! Ever since the first time I rode it felt like it was going to wash out the tail at any moment in a turn and it DID frequently both under power and not under power. NOT a comfortable feeling BUT tonight after the trim adjustment I was making full speed turns, was able to carve tight turns and just had a total ball beating the snot out of it without spinning out like it has been doing all summer.

So it could be worth a try if yours handles poorly.

Just thought I would post it to hopefully help someone else out

Thanks for the info. It's amazing what trimming the bow up or down just a little can do.

3/4" more UP on the Ultra 150 makes it FUN to ride!

I was suprised how little it took to totally transform how it handled. I want to buy some buoys now and set up my own practice course but I am pretty sure that would get me thrown off the lake!
    LOL

Put some sponsons on it and it will turn harder than you are able to hang on.
