Power pipe vs. Thru Hull
Ok I am confused. What is a power pipe compared to a thru hull. I am looking to Make the ski alittle louder and powerful however dont want to cut any holes in the hull because of warrenty and dont really trust me self. I already have the pro opas block-offs. What do you guys suggest, Also is the plastic pipe better then the metal thru hull pipe Pros and cons? Pics of the thru hull look cool. Any pics of the power pipe? Thanks for the help. -Matt

well if you don't want to drill thru your hull, then you have to get a power pipe.
ALL power pipes are metal... power pipes utilize the stock exhaust exit location but it eliminates the resonator and all the rubber hosing in the stock exhaust. it is louder than stock and has a loud sound around 3000 rpms.
thru-hull exhausts are mis-phrased sort of... ALL EXHAUSTS are thru-hull. when we say thru-hull, we mean REAR EXIT thru-hull. in this case u have option of metal or plastic pipe, but REQUIRES you drill a hole in the back of the hull and block-off the stock exit hole. plastic vs metal is a matter of preference. i personally run the plastic and will not change it and am very happy with it. thr REAR EXIT is not nearly as annoying as the power pipe, but is still loud and aggressive sounding.

This is a picture of the Power Pipe that does not require any cutting.
I have this but am going to the rear exhaust.
I did not want to cut holes either but now I do not care as much since the boat is not new anymore.
The Power Pipe has a loud drone around 3000 rpms and the rear does not.
Also the rear exhaust gets heat away from the aftermarket IC.
Metal is way better than plastic any day!!

Well the question still stands: does the plastic disipate heat faster, or does the alum pipe disipate heat faster? I`d bet that the alum pipe retains heat longer than the plastic, any thoughts?...PR...
