10ft Mini Jet build in Wisconsin

I have been watching these boats on youtube for a while and finally decided to build one.
    I scored a deal on a 2013 Kawasaki STX 15f 600hrs
I like the Kawasaki pump setup with the flanged seal at input shaft to intake housing
I realize the hours are up but figured parts availability and fuel injection was worth it.
I expect to put 10 hours on the mini jet a year so 600hrs didn't bother me.
The seller assured me the ski was serviced every 25hrs and always received any maint/repairs immediately.

I have a friend in the metal fab industry and he has priced out the material.
He has another shop with a large waterjet table that is willing to cut and bend the plates for a minimal charge.

I have decent welding skills. And have a nice miller with spool gun, and am willing to spend the time to have the satisfaction of welding it myself.

I will keep this thread updated as I progress.

Any and all advise is greatly appreciated.

RIght now my main concerns are
    1. locating plans in DXF format with bend info
    2. sourcing or building the intake to fit Kawasaki pump.
    3. alignment of the engine to driveshaft/pump.

Heres a shot of the jetskis when they came in
    I sold the 2016 already.

The aluminum is at the fab shop now and they will waterjet and bent the parts for me.

I plan to purchase the intake/suction housing from mini jet in canada
They are about 2000 CAD $1600 US but worth it for the time savings.

Following your project. I would suggest Tigging all your stuff but that is just me. I come from the old school jet boats of berkeley pumps and big blocks. That suction housing sure resembles that of a berkeley pump. I built a full size jet boat (well 19 footer) with a alum headed Big block Chevy, roller cammed and 871 blower on it and topped it off with my own machined plate for EFI and used an Enderle bug catcher as the throttle body. It was a crazy boat. Good luck in your build.

Thank you. I cant wait to get welding. I picked up a new lincoln square wave 200 been practicing with. I'd say I'm ok for 4 hrs of practice. Not beautiful by and means but getting there.

Looks good. I tried my buddy's SW200 a while back. Pretty good machine for the price. I have an older dynasty300DX that has paid for itselft many times over.

Not to highjack your thread but here is the boat I did years back. It was just a tired beat hull when I got it.

Starting teardown of donor ski. Hoping to recoup some expenses with leftover parts. All I need is engine pump, ecm and harness

Motor and pump are out. All that's left is harness and gauge cluster.
