Thumbs up New RIVA Ride Plate test On 2016 VXR and a quick Race with a 2016 FX SVHO!

Well today I took out My yamaha VXR to test the new RIVA Ride Plate. Unfortunately Lake Lanier had the worst Winds and Chop I have ever seen in awhile. My testing conditions were NOT good at all. However with that said, I was able to test the ride plate in the Chop and it was so much smoother and much more Planted to the water then my previous stock plate. It handled the chop much better and also improved my cornering performance. Now for the Top speed test. The water had alot of chop and way to much wind Gust for me to get any good runs in. The best run I could get with 12-18 mph gust facing me was 65 mph. With my wife riding with me on the back I would do 64 mph. My ski ran 66 mph in calm conditions before, however I tested it with a full tank of gas and this was the best I could get in the horrible conditions I was in. While out on lanier I ran into a Guy with a 2016 FX SVHO that was stock. I asked if he would like to race a few times and explained to him the Mods I had on my ski. My wife was able to record this video of us racing 3 times. The first race was from a 10 mph roll and the other two races were from a dead stop. He won all three races, but I was trying to see if I could atleast keep up with him. The first race he beat me by two ski lengths, but the last two races, I was about a ski and a half away from him. I was very happy with my VXR's results because I was able to beat the SVHO out of the hole by a ski length on the last two races from a stand still. After racing we both talked about the ski's and he just happens to be a Greenhulk forum member . Over all it was a bad day to be on the lake, and I will go back out when there is no wind and the lake is like Glass to re-test the Ride Plate. I feel if the conditions were perfect the VXR would have hit 67 mph. Here are some pics below and the video of the race. Enjoy!

Great pics and vid. I may need to get this plate. Too many positive reviews to ignore. I love speed but I actually love handling and reduced porpoising more.

Yes this plate gave me excellent out of the hole shot performance and less porpoising. It was worth the money.

    Hey Parrot,
I do the same thing to my friend who has 3 Seadoos, spray him with the visibility flag. I was going to take it off but my wife thinks it is a good safety feature and after all I did buy the jetski for her. I was tied up yesterday morning, otherwise I would have been out there on Lake Lanier racing with you (now that my FX doesn't leak water into the bilge any more).

No worries my friend, it was really rough and very windy. Let me know if you will be on the lake next sunday. I'll be out riding sunday.

You have the FX HO right? I have always wanted to race the FX HO. The SVHO is a little faster than my ski as you saw in the video.

A big ol' heavy FX Cruiser HO with an R&D power plenum breather that sounds good but doesn't actually do much. Couldn't get the wife out on the lake today, too cold she says. I bought her a wet suit but she won't wear it. I should get my wife to race you. She only weighs 112 lbs. She looks like a mouse riding on that big ol' FX
