IIRC on the older Yamaha models (before RiDE became available) the TPS was mounted inside the hull, with a mechanical cable running up to the handlebar throttle finger control.

You have GP1800, correct? On GP1800 (and other models with RiDE) the throttle position sensor is integrated into the handlebar finger control. So no mechanical cable to come loose.

When looking for parallels to your watercraft’s problem/symptoms, be aware whether the other guy’s machine has the same hardware as your own.

Do you have access to CanDooPro or Yamaha (dealer) diagnostics to read stored trouble codes?

I will suggest going through the wire harness, disconnect, inspect, then reconnect every electrical connector/plug. You may find a connector that is not fully seated or perhaps has some moisture, debris, bent pin, etc.

There are a bunch of connectors up front above the fuel tank, remove the access panel in storage compartment to see them. Lots of connectors around the engine and more on the mid-wall electrical panel (underneath the factory plastic cover).

I removed the engine cover plastic and the electrical panel plastic cover, put both into a storage bin until the day I decide to sell it. Without the covers it is much easier to inspect/work around the engine bay.

^dude are you serious ? 3 engines and now a clutch? I’d tell Yamaha to lemon law that ski and get you a new one or some sort of compensation. My 19 on the other hand has been flawless 75 hours this season and no issues

It's comical at this point....16 hours, 3 motors, now the clutch...Meanwhile both my RXP's have 260+ hours and never an issue!

That’s just sad Yamahas got to help you out with something. I’d dump that ski after it’s fixed if it ever is lol
