    Question Virage 1200 rejet and remove accelerator pump

    Might be picking up a 2001 Virage 1200 with a failed accelerator pump. Seeing as parts are difficult to come by, can it just be rejetted and eliminate the accel pump? If so, what jetting specs would i use? This is fairly common over on the Yamis & Seadoo with Mikunis, can the same be applied to Keihin carbs?

    After having my own issues with Keihin carbs I can tell you that Keihin no longer makes any carb parts. The same carbs were used by Kawasaki so maybe you could find one with them. The older Keihin carbs use anaccelerator pump with a shaft 3mm longer. Check ebay, you may be able to score a rack of carbs.

    a lot of the issues have to do with the plastic check ball inside the metering block or a pitted steel ball in the brass squirter.i've fixed lots of keihins like this

    Are there any rejetting solutions to simply eliminate it?

    look at it this way 65 low jet 42 mid 140 mag thats a 247 total,you'd need to up the low one to 68,the mid up to about a 50,thats 11 up so a 130 mag main jet.you'd have to dial in the lows and mids yourself until theres no hesitation in the idle to 4000 range upon throttle opening.after that your on the mains
