Where do people buy new bunks from?

The wooden bunks on my double aluminum Load Rite trailer are starting to split. Where are folks buying carpeted bunks from? I know I could make them, but would rather just buy some locally or online. Thanks!

Treated 2x4's, cheap outdoor carpet (both from Home Depot) and some stainless staples from Amazon.

This is what I did except 2x6 on end with Buncaps ( I think they went out of business ) what ever you do , don't use two layers of carpet. I did this and the carpet never dried...there were mushrooms and other exotic growth on my bunks !

Good tip on the 2-layers of carpet. Never thought of that. I do like the idea of 2x6's!

I know you mentioned just wanting to buy them, but after breaking brand-new bunks by putting my Waverunners back on the trailer too hard after service, I made my own with:

    1) White oak cut to my specs by the lumber store
    2) Zinsser Bulls Eye 1-2-3 Water-based White Primer/Sealer
    2) Slippery bunk tops from this place: http://www.surfixinc.com/surfix_trailer_bunkslides.html

The beauty of these bunk tops vs. carpet is that you can slide them off very easily even on a very low-grade boat launch. They also don't absorb water, of course and so the wood lasts longer.

On the "con" side, when you are re-loading your trailer on a steep launch, they slide back down very easily. You'll need someone to grab the hook at the front while keeping the gas on a bit until you have it connected.

Check your local mom & pop stores, Mike. I ordered to pair of 6' bunks from a friend of mine who owns a local marine store & they were only $22/pair. The carpet on them doesn't wrap all the way around the bottom to allow the boards to dry quicker.

These are the same as the ones from the link above but a LOT cheaper. Westmarine is the devil.
