Motor is coming along good. Oil pan on with nice bead of silicon. Side covers and senors installed. Head is next to go on. Oil filter and oil pump cleaned and ready to be installed.

Both the head and block were decked. Need to check TDC and some items inside the generator cover before installing. ARP flywheel bolts were installed, but I will likely reinstall with red loctite to be safe. Do not trust old engine builder.

I am working off a crate that I modified for shipping. Soon I will be able to put the motor on a dolly and bolt on the oil filter housing and oil pump.

Head, generator cover, starter, coupler, timing chain and clutch is on. Modifying crank bolt today. Decided to run stock cams for startup. Cams need to be shim and timed.

If I remember correctly the difference between the RC2 and the RC3 cams is duration. The same lift on both sets of cams.

I got the clutch, oil pump, super charger and oil lines on. The SC is needed for the smoke test. Cams remaining.

Had another set back on this motor. I decided to run the R3 cams, I was lashing the exhaust and did not have enough lash. I switched to the stronger lifter buckets and they are thicker. This is not a big deal. Then, I went to lash the intake and all was good, plenty of lash. On the last cylinder, the cam snaps while I was rotating it. I ordered billet cams from Webb Racing. They will be here in a week and half.

    Jeez that’s some bad luck
Or maybe it was good luck that it didn’t break while engine was running

No one seems to make the Web stuff live unless they run all there valvetrain components and blueprint them to the head. They tend to run too tight in the towers and wear into anything other than a hardened bucket

I am not concerned about the billet cams. I am checking all the clearances and adjusting as needed.
