Block has been deburred and cleaned, main stud cradle has been cleaned too. Taking to my machine shop tomorrow. I am actually excited about this ski again.

Machine shop will check all clearances and weights first. Lets see if there are anymore surprises.

Motor dropped off and inspected. Machinist said hone was non existent and the ring seal issue. Have to wait to hear about the oil clearances.

This is what a proper hone should look like. I am getting really excited about this motor again. Can not wait to get it running.

Have not heard back on bearings yet. Dropping head off at another machine shop to my head guy. Make sure everything is spot on.

I use a some guys I have known for 25 years. Burtonsville Performance Machine Shop. In general, they do not do much porting to the SVHO heads as they are cast and you have to be careful how much material you remove if you start porting. Plus we have boost on our side. However, there are plenty of other things you can do to get the most out of the head with the valve job, port matching, spring pressure, etc.

It will be interesting to see what he does. Every little bit adds up.

I got oil clearance info from my machinist. The mains are too tight, the ARP studs clamp better and a hone is not required by different color bearings are. This motor has like 9 hours and blue bearings, he ordered yellow. Not sure about the Carrillo rods.

Hone is done, rings are coming, 88mm bore. Short block will be ready soon, I cleaned all parts yesterday. This ski has been a part for way too long. But I located all the parts.

I am going to measure some cams that I have and get some info to the head machinist next.

I have to pick a known startup configuration, cam, wheel, injectors, ECU and tune up and data logging.

I have a bunch of gaskets and parts to order. Last, I am going to bend a new prop for this ski.
