Any experience with Karavan aluminum trailers?

I sold my ski and ended up having to let my Triton single go with it. I'm trying to buy a trailer for the next ski I buy so that's out of the way. Any experience with these?

It LOOKS nice in photos. I like the torsion axle. Anyone know if their aluminum line is any good? Or just stick with what works (Triton)?

    I bought one last year.

I tried to get a Triton short story is the local dealer wasn't interested in selling me a new Triton so I had the Karavan dealer order me their new aluminum PWC model first one the dealer had seen. Mine is the 1500lb model which looks wider than the one in your pic, torsion axle, LED lights and 13" wheels I added the boat buckle retractable rear tie downs and a front safety chain. So far I really like it all my other trailers were spring axle the torsion is a smoother ride and with the trailer being wider the ski sits lower than my last trailer which helps with launching and servicing. This is the only pic I have at work I'll post a few more later.

nice...can you post a picture of how the boat buckle is mounted? I bought the large stainless ones, and can't see a good spot for it. btw, how heavy do you think your tongue is with that setup? can you lift it?

I see you're in Vancouver do you ride with Les and the Ladner group ?

I can lift the tongue without too much trouble I would rather it be heavy than light it tows nicely so tongue weight seems to be OK. I also got the stainless boat buckles and they were too big so I exchanged them for the smaller version they are bolted to the rear tie down bracket. Here's some pics let me know if you need more.

Thank you for all the info canuck! I went to check the trailer out today and I must say it's definitely REALLY nice! Very high quality good looking trailer. I liked everything about it, coolest part is you can adjust the axle forward and back to distribute tongue weight if desired. It bolts into an adjustable track. I also like how the fenders bolt to the axle which gives it a flush, clean look. I went ahead and laid a deposit down on it and I pick it up tomorrow. Now all I need is a nice new ski to put on it!

I like it, does the torsion have greasable hubs or sealed?

Pop the rubber cap and see if there's a grease nipple under it.
