    R3 or deans?

So I've had both. Big positive is deans fuel map after the survey your fill out is spot on and I mean spot on. So easy to adjust fuel pressure after the reflash from him. But to me I feel like the R3 is more aggressive and I got more Rpms out of the r3. Anyone had the same difference between the two?

Dean all day...As you can see from my signature my Dean tune works pretty well and no lack of rpm. You've seen more rpm from R3 tune back to back on exact same prop pitch and conditions as you tested the Dean tune?

Yes but not far off...maybe 200 rpms. The tune and acceleration just felt more aggressive

Interesting most people I've seen feel the opposite where Deans pulls harder. I haven't personally tested an R3 tune so I can't compare.

Ive done 4 deans flashes on 4 different skis and each one the owners say it out accelerates R&D flashed skis they race. Honestly could've been your afr off or something which dean tune did you switch to? I went with dean cause i like that he does static fuel pressure tunes and he's in FL so he knows how to tune skis for the weather im in. Can't say 1 bad thing about deans's tunes.

You can compare two tunes on two boats with different levels of mods and both may run faster with the opposite tunes in them. This is because both boats are different and the tuning strategies are often times different at different thresholds. My point is what may test faster on one day for one boat will not always mean just plain faster across the board.I think the same comparison may give a very different result with a more aggressive wheel because there is only so much that can be done on pump gas

Dean's hits harder and is a better tune. We did a back to back switching ecu's (R3 & Dean's flash) on a buddies fzr and top end were pretty close but holeshot and mid range pulled harder.

R3 is a good tune in its time but when you compare the two Dean's tune does have more timing, and the fuel tables are cleaned up where it just runs better.

I can't compare to a R3 tune, but my stage 1 Dean's tune I noticed cleaned up the low rpm surging and the part throttle way it runs just seems "cleaner".

And nobody has mentioned the best part...You get to talk to Dean who's one of the most helpful and supportive people you'll ever talk to when it comes to leading you in a good and safe direction for your ski. He's forgotten more than most people know on this forum.
