    Alternative tow hook?

Can someone tell me which Yamaha model(s) and year(s) had this style tow hook?
    Or the Yamaha part number?

Not just a metal hoop, this has a center hook.

The photo is from this article, suggesting the 2016 VX Limited model included this tow hook. But it is possible the photo is of a pre-production hull, hence I am not sure how to find the part number for the tow hook.

If I cannot figure out the Yamaha J hook part number, I may be able to use the Seadoo 291002351

    or Seadoo 291001232

I have a similar one fitted to my fzs
But I bought it from a boating shop
Slightly enlarged stock holes with a file
    And bolted on

Do you know what make/module the hook originally came from?

That hook comes on all models that are "limited". There is a VX Limited and an FX limited. Not sure if it came on other models.

there is a 2016 and 2017 VX Limited and a 2017 FX limited.

The part I found though is not the exact same one. Has the hook but no ring

It was just an off the shelf part
    Unbolt your tow loop
    And take it with you
Just get one that matches the width closest

Arrow Adding Yamaha F4G-U372G-00-00 tow hook 'eyelet' to GP1800

    First installation. Looks tidy.

Tip: The added hook must point downwards. If installed with the hook upwards, there is little room between hook and the black plastic grab handle for the rope to fit through.

I stacked the factory backing plates together, both are now on the inside of the hull.

For my second installation I added added a stack of three stainless steel washers on each leg of the factory tow hoop. This spaces the factory tow hoop a bit farther away from the newly added tow hook. Without the washers the space between hook and loop is rather snug, hard to fit a thick rope through the gap.

I will add the same washer stack thickness, or perhaps even four washers, to the tow loop on the blue one.

    Thanks for the documentation!

    @K447

Thank you for documenting this so well. I am sure many people have benefited from your research and pictures.

Ordering a couple of these for my 2017 FX HO and GP1800. if we ever need to use the tow loops to pull one back to shore this will be dandy.

    Thanks again!
