I don’t get it. Myself and 3 friends all have machines with 200-300 hours on them. We’ve replaced 2 clutches. One at around 220 hours and the other at 285. 2 of them are still original. How do people kill one in 20 hours unless the ski is highly modified?

I dont get it either. My ski is modified however I am not one that has the throttle pinned over chop and blasting everywhere. Nothing crazy.

Mine went at 66.6 hours with a Fizzle, Maptuner st2, and ribbon delete with Solas prop. Turns 8550-8650 Rpms... Iím older so I donít ride as aggressive as the younger crowds but normally I encounter average sized waves at the local lake. Itís a narrow lake so the wind doesnít kill it like some lakes...

Yamaha apparently has revised the clutch for 2021 model year. And that newer clutch will retro-fit to the prior SVHO engines, early reports say.

How is the current OEM SVHO clutch when purchased as a replacement any different from the Yamaha OEM SVHO clutch installed at the factory?

I wonder that as well. Hopefully the new clutch will be better.
