I do know that if the HIN plate falls off or breaks, Kawasaki will NOT give you a replacement, under any circumstances.

Good to know. But will my engine fit in this hull? It was a 550sx, and I have the engine conversion mount plate that will make mine hold a 650. Are the engine mounts different on this ski?

They are all the same, only difference from a 440-550 is cylindet bore. 550 piston port/550 reed engine is the reeds. Engine mounting is the samw

Is it the same for the 300sx though? I want to put my 650 in the 300sx hull pictured. I have the conversion plate to make the 650 for in my 550 hull, but are the mounts the same from the 300sx to the 550?

Ok thanks. I'll probably put an ad out on craigslist looking for a hull.

There was a guy on X-H20 that was making stainless ones for if you have yours break, they were laser etched and very nice looking.

Ok, might have found a good deal, but I figured I would run it by you guys first. I inquired about somebody on craigslist who has a 79(?) 440 hull that he will sell me with some 0 degree bars for $150. He seems to know plenty about kawis, but I was wondering if there was any "catch" to this seemingly good deal. He said that in 79 the hulls were lighter and hand made, is this correct? Will it handle the same or better than my current hull? Is it going to be weaker? Anything else I might be missing? Should I get it or keep looking?

I believe it is the white one

I dont know the benefits of the different hull years, i had an 87 in the past i know they didnt change much to the hulls over the year. Go take a look 150 is a small price and prob worth the gamble, these js's really arent worth much anymore. You could go into the vintage thread over at pwctoday, you should be able to get some more information there
