    ~*~*~* Gus13Letter GP 1800 - Where will this lead? ~*~*~*~

I thought I would retire jet skis for a little while after selling my wicked 93 mph FZ, but I had bought a new Triton trailer and it was just sitting in the garage empty and tempted me to buy a GP 1800.
I left the dealer and hit the water for 30 minutes for a break in and good heat cycle.

I decided I wanted to set the ski up for handling, rough water and running buoys. Dean from Dean's Team pointed me in the right direction with some mods to do just that. After the first break in with only 0.5 hours on the skito make sure everything was ok, I installed the Riva steering, Riva free flow, Jet Trim seat cover, Worx sponsons.
Went on a 60 mile long ride and could not believe how well this ski handles rough water. The acceleration and nimbleness of the ski is simply amazing.

I decided to install Riva air intake, Riva ribbon delete. While it was apart I install Dean's billet throttle body adapter to eliminate future stock dampner failure. Since I want to set the ski up for rough water and buoys I got Dean's closed course rideplate. I also did a GPS bypass.

I hit the water and could not believe the difference!! With stock untouched impeller the ski was on the limiter at 3/4 throttle but still ran 76.2 MPH

Got a Solas 13/20 from Dean and had him pitch it for the mods I have. Took the ski out and ripped up some buoys and wow, this setup rips the buoys up!! After running buoys for a couple of hours my friend asked if I GPS it. We used his phone ap which is accurate, but doesn't have tenths. I ran a 77 MPH in fairly calm water. I found I setting down from full up was the best. Similar to my FZR.

My friend has a GP 1800 too and suggested I GPS it across the choppy water and he bet that I will see the same speeds. Not only did I see the same speed, I ran faster in the choppy water!! Ski ran 78 mph!! This was on a ski that has been doing back to back runs and running buoys for a couple of hours so it was completely heat soaked.

I bet it will run 80 mph with just the few things done and no reflash!

Congrats on the purchase. You will love it. I don't think they have a module to plug in like the FZ. You have to send the ECU in to Dean's Team to have the GPS limiter removed. I looked at Green Hulk and Dean's Team store but do not see this service listed yet. It's $150 to have done. Dean will apply that 150 toward a reflash later.

Thank you. Certainly has me surprised.

It needs an intake grate but they are still not available from Riva yet. I am on the waiting list.
