Agreed, I just bought it from a lady who had paid the dealer to replace/repair. I have both flywheels and bendixs. Then the dealer told her to part it out. The second flywheel is the one pictured the other one is much worse. I will be doing the work going forward. Just wondering if this was common. Seems starter, bendix and flywheel align themselves.

Could be that the dealer didn't get all the shrapnel out from the first failure.

Does that model have the little spring and plastic button in the flywheel cover that keeps the starter shaft in place? If so, and it is missing perhaps the starter shaft and bendix are coming ahead while riding and causing the damage. Just a thought as I don't know about that model.
