    Fxho ecu/ecm help

    Hi
I've got a bit if a dilemma. I sold an ecu from a 2006 ski that had a blown engine wich was ran with no oil in it. The person I sold the ecu/ecm to said my ecu was faulty and wanted a refund there was no way I knew that he would send mine back so I said I would issue a full refund as long as he sends mine and his damage ecu this way the only way I knew that he could not send his faulty One back and keep my good one
I received both ecu/ecm today when I opened them I noticed some of the numbers was scratched of his ecu/ecm and non of the other numbers match up. I now found out his ski is a 2004 and my ecu is from a 2006. Could he have damaged my ecu/ecm by plugging my 2006 into a 2004 ski. Should I refund the money or could his ski have damaged my ecu/ecm on the eBay listing it stated clearly it was for a 2006 ski quick response please as he is waiting for his money back

well the right way to do it is to refund his money and call it a loss ,i will if it was my case, you should have had it mark to prevent and issue like that.
can't tell you if it got damage on the older model , all i know they share almost the same electronics .

I do have the same one back I sent out. My question is could he have damage the ecu putting it in a ski that runs a ecu with a different ecu serial I sold it to fit a 2006-2008 ski so don't understand why he would fit it to a 2004

i cannot answer that question for you ,what kind of issue did he had to said it was bad? was the ecu you had a ho engine and his a regular 110? either way just return his money and learn from that mistake, next time specified to the buyer that he's responsible to verified fitment.

[QUOTE=dixon0001;2838877]. . . . The person I sold the ecu/ecm to said my ecu was faulty and wanted a refund..../QUOTE]

I know this is hindsight . . . Could the buyer had fried yours due to a short on his end - sure. Likely, probably not. No coming off as cynical, but do you even trust his assertion your ecu is indeed "faulty"? Aka, perhaps he was just "trying out" parts. Regardless, refund was the best action here. And I’d try and retest that ecu yourself - hence might still have a valid sale there.
