What about the oil level on dipstick? The dip stick is marked with a top and bottom mark. Keep oil within the two markings and you will be fine. This is clearly outlined on your owners manual and to be brutally honest, self explanatory (works same way on the car you use every day).

If I guessed at your question wrong, be more specific next time.

Maybe his question is something like mine. My new RXTX 300 oil level from the dealer is significantly above the high mark. Is this normal for a new ski, or hosed up? Does the dealer put the oil in or is it from the factory?

They come with oil from the factory unless the pdi people added some.

Its over filled on most of the units I've seen including my 2 300's. Verify when fully hot and up to op temperature and siphon out as needed.

Thanks angus. New ski, oil way overfilled, oil residue throughout intake, worried about what the oil slick is doing to the intercooler..................... Really old forums saying overfilling is bad on the old 255's............ Come on guy's;........... I turn to you for help. Yes, I can read all the information out there, but sometimes it's not specific to the detail we need. Some of you need to realize we are not all as PERFECT and educated in this stuff as you. We like this forum for the help and sometimes for the varsity guys you think our questions are stupid. Well, to you they are.... But to us less educated..........
