    17 rxt-x 300 oil filter leaking

One thing i noticed after my first few hours was the top of my oil filter assembly is wet with oil. I checked and it is tight. I will change the oil this week and put in new seals and i hope that solves the problem. I hate warranty work.

there is an O-Ring on the torx bolt that holds the cap down, it could be that leaking.

I don't see a leak. All I see is a salt water oil coating sprinkler mod kit.

Are you sure you didn't drip some oil on it when checking the level or adding some? I would think a leak in this area would leave a more uniform trace.

Wipe it off, if it comes back, replace the 2 orings on the oil filter cover.

Yes I replaced the two o-rings around the top and it is still leaking thru the torx bolt. Do I need to unscrew the bolt that has thread lock on the shaft to install the tiny thick o-ring just below the top

You replaced the two large outer orings. What Slow91 meant was to replace the small single oring that rests at the head of the long torx bolt. That is where the leak is coming from.

I replaced all 3 o-rings once again and its still leaking. I wonder if i should let the delaer fix or just order a new oil filter cover for $32 and try it.
