    Need advise on topend rebuilding

    The flywheel bolt had come off because the threads were blached last fall, it took out the stator and oil injector,
    I then retapped threads, replaced stator went to premix 49:1/non-powervalve and compression was fine at that time
    and took it out for a few short runs/last fall, it ran fine so I figured why pull the cylinders and try to fix
    something that wasn't broke WELL here I am wondering if last years ordeal did in fact cause internal probs. So it's
    time to order some new pistons/rings SO what would do I need to fix/look for before putting the new parts back in.
    Pistons now have F and 100 stamped on top/it's for a 99 SUV and was thinking of replacing with the pro-X any ideas
    on which ones that would be in the pro-X ?

    You gotta complete meltdown there. The whole engine needs to be gone through, including the crank and especially the carbs.

    Where are you located?

    How is your mechanical ablility? ....and how much to you have to spend?

    I would rather see you do a rebuild if your are a good wrench.

    You should send the crank out to be inspected and very possibly trued and welded. Crankworks is an excellent company.

    What are your plans for this engine? (stock or modified?)

    Can you post some pics of the head and cylinder walls?

    Well-I suppose it's time to get it down to the core and do the exchange thing-I will get so time tomorrow eve to look through the carb to see what the heck might have caused the damage before bolting it onto the one I will have to order from one of the online shops.
