    oil pump chain install

    guys i need help asap.... took out my oil pump for a rebuilt now chain acting like its too short to reach.... been fighting with it all weekend.... i can't think of anything else to do for it to reach

    Huh? You sure you got the right one? 250/60 & 300's are different gears on the pump, maybe its wrong. Show us a pic

    you know what i'am using a 250 crank now.. could this be the problem ... do i need to get a 250 gear

    Make sure you are using the right chain first. Put the gear on the pump, then loosen the 8mm bolt heads that hold the pump plate to the block. angle it to put the chain on, then tighten the bolts.

    The different crank shouldn't matter as the center differences are the same - Make sure you have the correct oil drive parts ie 300 crank gear, 300 chain, 300 oil pump gear.

    thats the chain ski came with ... it was extra tight though i had a hard time taking it off, maybe that the reason why now i can't put it on....

    i have a 260 though does it mater.....

    jump on a parts fiche, check part numbers for the ones you have. i tried this with an early 15f and late 15f, gears didnt mesh and couldnt swap parts.

    I've look everywhere only coming up with the same number?
