    Polaris 1996 sl 780 trim

I have a Polaris sl 780 that I can't get the trim to work. I know that my motor and trim switch works. I'm having trouble with the regulator. The three wires. (Red/p, yellow, and orange) how do I test the regulator. I know that the motor has to be running for the trim to work. But my trim doesn't work, only when bypass the regulator.

How did you 'bypass' the LR module?

It is not unusual for the LR module to fail. Replacements are not expensive. See my signature links for a cross reference of other Polaris LR module part numbers that will also work.

There are aftermarket LR modules available, I do not have enough stats to comment on those.

I used a jumper wire by connecting 1 end to a power spot them the other wire to a spot wear the bilge and trim get power when the LR module sends power to them from the stator.

Sounds like you may need to replace the LR module.

Before you do, check that the stator Yellow wire is reading full battery voltage with the engine not running. If battery voltage is present on Yellow then replace the LR voltage regulator.

Suspect you can test by a meter on the yellow wire, and the other lead on a ground.

Did you ever resolve the issue? A friend is having a similar issue I'm trying to help him with.
