Couple questions about the RXT-X 260 before I buy.

I've been looking at a private party 2015 RXT-X 260 with 22 hours on it. I have the service records. The ski has been serviced and winterized at a dealership. I have a couple questions. It's been 1.5 years since I've owned a ski and like this one. In the first image, Rotax isn't stamped on the engine. Is that normal? Secondly, it looks like water spots on the top inside of the cover. It's been fired up and idles at proper RPM, but want to know if the photos are normal. Thanks!

The Rotax lettering on the valve cover was actually a piece of plastic that clipped onto studs in the four empty holes in your pic, BRP stopped putting this piece on the newer skis.

The water marks are normal those are drain holes so water is not trapped between the plastic pieces of the front hood, notice how the drain holes are outside of the seal area.

I see you're doing a lot of due diligence before buying this machine. This is good but I would focus on the "big" things-such as how it runs and accelerates. Does it cavitate out of the hole, does the engine peak at around 8100 RPM, does the IBR function, etc. I think you mentioned that there is remaining warranty and I would have an extended warranty included with the deal. These high performance skis are not that reliable and are very expensive to repair. This is a very fun ski-I'm on my second one. Good luck!

I have to disagree about the "These high performance skis are not that reliable" line..
they are VERY reliable if maintained properly. I have 185 Hrs on my 2013 RXT-X 260 and it's been very reliable!
only issue I've had was a leaking PTO seal that was fixed under warranty last year.

I have a friend who has a 2011 RXT-X 260 and his has been completly trouble free.
