    Smile Electric Jetskis

Can somebody point me to the state of the art in electric PWC? When are the big players going to launch one?

Completely useless. How would you charge it ? Weight is a very big issue. And the biggest fail of everything electric... when you have an accident you burst into flames and die. Go watch fire departments trying to stop electric vehicle fires.

Only thing they could work for is hydrodrags .. 5mins of charge is all one needs

Gasoline vehicle fires have been lethal since the beginning of cars.

Electric vehicles rarely burn, and when they do my understanding is that the battery fire tends to happen long after the people have gotten out and even then tends to be controlled.

    Electric Jetskis

when the batteries are exposed to air they burn. Take a mobile phone battery and stab a hole into it and try and put it out with your fire extinguisher.

Anycase, natural gas and diesel would make far more practical green solutions for boats and jertskis.

    Electric Jetskis

And with a run time of 30mins ... 45min is best case scenario..

So you'll need a 600lb 5.5kva diesel generator and 10gallons of diesel to charge it... which takes around 4hours.

Sounds like a wonderful day of Jetski....

Well I guess they are currently a niche product then.

So putting aside the safety, which one would hope would get sorted at some point, is the problem with the physics? Low power to weight ratio and high drag on water, compared to automotive?
