2016 Hull Blisters, Yamaha Rebate Check

I recently took delivery of a new 2016 VXR, a dealer rep called me a week later and told me I could take $1000.00 or bring it in and have them repair the blisters.
I never reported the issue, they called me. After inspection I did find blisters near the foot traction pads.

Has anyone else gotten this offer offer from Yamaha? or their dealer?

    smokewagon,

My understanding from Smokewagon this is a new ski and never even been in the water yet. Just uncrated last week and preped by the dealer taken home and he gets this phone call a week later from Yamaha saying that his vin# could have blisters in the footwell develope and they would repair them or offer a $1000. 00 refund in stead of repairing the blisters, never heard of this aproach from Yamaha. Funny how they didn't take that approach with the 2014 and 2015 SVHO timing chain failures???

After getting more details at the dealership the blisters were not a Yamaha hull issue per say but rather a storage issue where several skiis were improperly stored with standing water in the foot well over long term so a "shipping storage" damage assessment was reached with each owner. In my case the blisters were so small I took the payment and will repair them myself. I'm happy.

    smokewagon,
