    Yamaha Hole in Hull?

I know we have our share of problems on the Kawi side!
My buddy just found a huge hole in his SVHO hull.
It's a 2016 he didn't hit anything, but he does beach it from time to time but dam.
I wonder if this a common Yami problem? Easy fix?

Well beaching can take it's toll. He has beach that ski a lot ! No doubt about it. Some rock & course surfaces caused the deterioration and his case fast & drastic. Must make extensive hull repairs now ! Steve Lee

That's not from beaching....unless maybe he has been beaching on a coral reef.

Not unusual. Do a search in the Yamaha section for Nanoxcel. It seems that most of the failures have been on racing or modified boats.

This is not uncommon at all. I see your location is Cape Coral. I vacation on Fort Myers Beach and when I owned a FZR my keel split in the same place. If your friend is interested I can give him the name of a good hull repairman who does work for Salty Sam's and others. I also have the name of the body shop that does warrantied hull repairs for the Yamaha dealer on Daniels Parkway in Fort Myers. NanoXcel takes special materials and methods to repair properly.

Is his trailer set up correctly? Enough keel clearance to the cross bar when rolling on to it?

A strong thick hull is like a strong foundation on a home it all starts there all that 80-90 mph doesn't mean shit without a good solid hull for all the unexpected objects you might hit in the waterways ..
Good luck with the NanoXel fix lots of discussions and opinions "on how to"on the Yama sites ,my bottom looks like a crime scene from beaching , objects like tree limbs hitting and a tree falling on the back footrest lifting the ski up in the air but Kawa with all its flaws on how they don't sell and how slow they are have the best rock solid hull in the industry hands down ... Just something to take into consideration when buying a ski
