    RX -> RXP

    I have a 2000 RX Millennium. Love the thing. Just would like it to be a hair larger and more power of course. But I'm not modding a 951 with 80 original hours.

    I really like the similarities and improvements stepping to an RXP. My main concerns are keeping weight down, so I want pre-2012, and reliability.

    Debating between the 215, the x255, and if a 09+ is worth it to get the updates.

    Will a 215 feel faster than an RX? I've done my research but I don't find that many guys that come from an RX to an RXP and talk about it. Similar top speeds but power/weight is much better on the RXP

    The only mods I really plan on are FF exhaust, intake, and then anything else under ~$500 that doesn't kill reliability.

    i had a 98 gsxl with a 951 white motor and just a 215 is so much better! my buddy had 2- 215's, 255 (stage 3 255) all were toast a 100 hrs he now has 16' 260 and it seems more solid. another buddy has 2- 14' gtr 215's and they are rock solid and ride very well- only problem has been the brake solenoid failure and that was fixed by seadoo. i would get a used gtr215 or a new bad azz gtr230!!! if u get an old 215 or 255 u will have issues but if u can turn wrenches ull b ok

    X2 what ncdoo said. I tow 75% of the time with my Ford Fusion cuz I'll take it like 200 miles to some lakes, so I dot want to get above 800lbs dry. Thus I'm sticking to pre '12 rxp.

    Is the 215 going to feel faster than my RX though? I read a lot about guys complaining about slow bottom end and how much better the 255 is. But is that slow in comparison to the 255, or slow in general? I happen to think my carbed 951 RX is pretty quick. I'm 210lbs and I gps 63. I'm no mechanic but I tinker here and there.

    From what I read, if u get the washers in the SC and the valves taken care of, it's pretty bulletproof.

    Essentially I want an RX on steroids. And I feel that's what I'll get with a RXPX. But I wonder if I'd be fine with an RXP 215 and it'll still be an improvement in all areas.

    Rxp 215 you can get cheaper and mod it to a 255 or more fairly cheap. I loved my Rx... when I got my first 05 rxp... it was ridiculous!! Remove the opas and you'll love it.

    You'll have to mod the $hit out of a 951 to run with a stock 215 RXP but then you'll lose all reliability. The RX is a smaller and lighter ski than an RXP so there is a big difference in handling. First time I rode an RXP it felt like a boat instead of a ski. If you want reliability and speed get an RXP and leave the motor stock. But if you're like most on this site, faster is better so most don't leave them stock. There are some reliable mods you can do to the 4Tec that will get it in the mid 70s if that's what you want.

    RX -> RXP

    I made your exact move. 2000 RX to 2006 RXP. Bottom line...you won't regret it.

    RX -> RXP

    I really appreciate the feedback guys.

    That helps a lot. From guys complaining I was worried I'd trade all the grunt of the 951 for a ski that's so-so but has great top end.

    Sure top speed is fun, but I'm more about trying to run a buoy course or ripping through the 15' wide weed channels on the top edge of lake st clair , Detroit. The rx was perfect for that with me and a girl on board. Just going 50 through them cutting corners on a dime.

    And I grew up on 780 Polaris slt's so i was hesitant at the RX size. But I have a '13 wammer superjet for tricks. I just want a ski that rails corners and has grunt power and can do ok in big swells.

    Tbh I don't get why guys love the 3 seaters that "cut right through" the waves. Don't u wanna jump? They might as well get a 255 challenger then lol.

    I'm telling you bro a 215 and 255 stock will give you trouble, do not mod them the 255 that I spoke of had 80hrs and one of the 215s was completely stock and hydroed at 90hrs. I love those skis (very fun to ride) but very small to me because im a good sized person the gtr215 as said above was slow on the bottom but ripped like a 2stroke on the mid to top. i am not bashing the 215 and 255 they are very fun skiis they will just need a rebuild every less than 100hrs do not go past 100hrs i have has a SP, HX GSL and that 215 and 255 made those old skiis feel slow
