    951 DI, AIR compressor question

Hello, I'm finishing my 951 DI Rebuild but I have a question about Air compressor.

I bought a new Air compressor kit from SBT but when I install it between engine and "head of air compressor" I have a gap around 0.6mm (not touch with engine block).
Between head of air compressor and engine block there aren't a gasket (the gasket of wsm kit is only of cylinder surface).
Is correct? Should I make a gasket (maybe 2 gasket together) for touching between they??

    I put some pictures

Regards and thank you in advance =)

Refer to parts diagram attached for numbered items
The O/ring (13) sits around the top collar of the air pump sleeve(31) and is compressed so it doesn't leak into the water jackets above the Head (32) This should all bolt down from the cover (40) with 3 bolts

Yep, o'ring right there, not a gasket. Dowel pin might be holding it up off the block. Did you try tapping it down with a rubber mallet?

I'm sorry to go off topic but why is there an air compressor on the 951 DI, is it part of the injection system?

the orbital injection system uses a fuel injector and an air injector. that's where the air pump comes in. the high pressure air helps atomize the fuel. the Fitch systems of Polaris and kaw use a giant electromagnetic pump to squirt the fuel in at I believe is 1000 psi+

the air pump is mostly forgotten..until it craps..typically from not being properly cleared out after a water indigestion incident.

the system is clean enough to meet the standards of the parks department, who have banned older bosch style fuel injection and all carbed two stroke pwc from certain bodies of water ( lake Meade being most notable)

I realize this thread is a year old but have the same question. I rebuilt the entire 2001 GTX di motor and the air pump has a huge gap between the Piston sleeve/lower case and the cap with the Reed/check valve. About a 1/8 inch. The cap does not sit "flat" on the housing. Is this correct/normal. I have the correct assembly according to the parts diagram above.
