    Exhaust filter delete?

I know that many of you say that it's common to use the exhaust filter
But can anyone say what gain to get without the filter?

    edit: just for race setup

After 6 yrs of the putting in a new filter going without it this season just the race plate filter with small water ports to cool the WB and exhaust and keep it drier for better acceleration .. Let ya know in 3 months...

    Bit of a defeatist attitude
Most modify their skis away from factory specs

So you took your filter out and have good things to say about how everything went or you just have an opinion about someone else's opinion who knows what he's talking about?

It's been well documented / discussed in these Forums the benefits of keeping the Exhaust Filter in the Pipe. The biggest reason is the prevention of corrosion to parts like the Spark Plugs and Valves. If you have a way to not run the Exhaust Filter and maintain non corrosion, we would love to hear it! JB

Could you run a hot-rod style electric exhust cutout? Basically a 12v door to close the passageway when the ski i off.
    Has anybody tried that?

JB your right as it's been documented here and the issues discussed not having it in , But that's for recreational riding most of the time not being in a high rpm range ( 8000k+) for long periods of time like Anton says....
Its meant for racing CC endurance or Grudge where you push the limits, you raced back in the day with success so your familiar with not worrying about tomorrow's spark plugs and valves and looking for that little extra ..

Thanks for the answers. I know why there is a exhaust filter.
For rec.ride and stock ultras of course the filter should be there

But when we do serveral race upgrades and so on I can think the filter is restricted. Thats way I ask for the benefit to go without the filter.
