Yes it's an extra pound of boost and rpm gains too.

Not sure where you are getting your information, but that's wrong advice. There are clear advantages to removing the restrictive flame arrestor, even with a stock supercharger.

what I said was i see most people pull the flame arrestor out from the throttle body side, but the IMUK is a good idea because its a good source for a boost reference line. There is no question that removing the arrestor has its advantages.

Just remember boost and rpm equates to mph.

Different than the old two stroke days where we sometimes purposely brought rpms DOWN to get mph up assuming we had the power left to do it. I've had to change my thinking and constantly remind myself of this.

This is a 20 minute mod and your done.
It's also the cheapest pound of boost you'll ever gain in my opinion.

If you ever start doing reflashes (tunes). You'll have to make sure the correct supporting mods are complete to compliment any specific tune. Pay close attention that these always match. IMUK I believe is required for all the stages (correct me if I'm wrong).

What if you only want to run a scom and not a tune? Any point in doing this?

I'd still do it just because it's so easy, but it sure wouldn't hurt the scom's efforts in its mission of being the override for speed limitation.
The question I don't know the answer to is "does the scom still leave the boost limitation in place"?
If so, then maybe doing this wouldn't be as effective. I haven't used one of those so I'll let someone chin in that is familiar with that part.
