I also would like a copy strictly for personal use - I am trying to diagnose TWO 2004 Polaris Virage i 800's - one I am pretty sure has a bad flywheel or stator and the other won't start . . . and I am probably about to fall into another unit 2002 Virage VTx 1200 . . .

The diagnostic software won't help you with your stator and/or flywheel issues. It doesn't perform any diagnostics of those circuits. The shop manual details which pins to measure resistance of and what value to expect as a means to check continuity of the stator sections. I'd start by checking the two output voltages first, to confirm there is an issue. Checkout the "Click Here" link at the bottom of Post #4, it will you take you to pages where much of this diagnostic info is concentrated.

As to the no start unit, are you obtaining any "check engine" messages on the display? If you're not, it won't do anything for you short of providing the last timing values which if off from the norm greatly is indicative of the need to have the EMM rebuilt.
