Hey Steve, with me doing my 260 to 300 coil conversion, will I need to change (or do anything with) the spark plug gap when I put the new plugs in my 260 PX?
Or should I just take out of the box, put them in as-is and go?

Hello Guys , why the newer units have a ground cable on each coil screw ? When we make a conversion on our 260 motors have we got to replace the spark plug with the 300 one's ? Thank you

the ace coils use spark plugs with the cap removed, if your caps come off then you can re-use them
the ace coils make a hotter spark and to help protect the ecu they use a extra ground to carry the load
spark plug gap is boost related the more boost the smaller gap needed to stop misfire
na plug gap is about .045 and low boost is about .035 and 20 psi is about .025

wow this is a old thread...lol

Ok, so this coil upgrade can be hard on an ECM on a older ski. I was going to do the upgrade on a 2008 RXT-X????

Not hard on it at all. It works perfectly on your 2008 and older skis.

Ok , so where I have to route the extra grounds ? I have 17,5 psi of boost @ 8800 rpm , what gap do you think I have to use ?

Thank you so much and best regards ,

Anywhere to engine ground is fine. Use the bolt that holds the coil down.
Use the 300 spark plugs. They come pre gapped

Are you sure ? the 300 spark plug are hotter than the 260 spark plug .
I think that those spark plugs are only dedicated for the 300 engines .
