2016 gti 155 fuel economy question

just wondering what could you expect for distance on one in ECO mode and touring I am planning on doing a 230km ride, and trying to gauge if it is possible, I checked the map and there is a marina exactly half way, if anyone has experience

you might want to think about carrying some gas strapped on back with brackets . Kind of like the guys on the show dangerous waters did with their jetskis

I think it is within range if you cruise at your most efficient point the entire time. I was able to get a predicted max range of 90miles riding between 28-32mph on my '12 PX. I would expect you would get similar max range. You have a 30% reserve at that range, so you should be OK.

What is the fuel tank capacity on that model?

You need to be clear about your 230km ride. Is that to spot and return or just to spot?

If 230km total (142 miles), that is very doo'able as long as you fill up at marina both times - find out in advance their hours of operation. I've done that on my fast ski averaging 4.5mpg to 5mpg (to your half way point). On longer rides (or rides I plan to be hard on gas), I keep two 2-gallon gas jugs in front storage compartment. Strap them down with HD rubber bungee/hooks. The extra gas gives me about +20 miles distance if taking it easy.

I think you will get between 5 to 6 MPG.

ps. Don't forget, when you hear/see the "low fuel" beep/light, you have around 4 to 4.5 gallons left to empty

Rule of thumb is to set aside 1/3 of the tank capacity for emergencies use, not to be used during the planned trip. You can fudge that a bit, but do your math based on 40 liters of fuel available to get you there.

Someone on here should know how much fuel your non-supercharged 4-Tec engine will burn (miles per gallon or gallons per hour at cruise speed) during optimum cruise RPM and economical speed.

It will make a difference how much weight the machine is carrying. Single rider or passengers and lots of gear. More weight will reduce cruise range a little.
