2001 Virage with two cylinder red engine - Max speed?

I got this ski a year ago abd with limited riding time available i have yet to sort all the niggles.

    I have a 700 carby 2001 virage.
I was having a couple of problems......the wear liner swelled, replaced with full stainless with the impeller rebuilt.

I had a massive flat spot at 2500 - 3500 rpm, fixed with a full carb rebuild. (Used a crap quality kit a year ago), confirmed correct jet position and sizes.

I had a nice flat bay for a speed test fun today, it sat on a consistent 67 KPH which is 41 MPH (GPS) the RPMs were 6000 flat.

I have 150 and 140 psi on the two cylinders. The timing is 20 deg at 3000 rpm. It runs equally on either cyl with one or the other spark lead disconnected and grounded. The pump stator is a bit chewed up (a six vane on its way).

From what I can find out i am about 10 MPH down...which is about 16 KPH. What am i missing or what i have is what I can get.

What spark plugs are being used?

Original ignition system or updated kit installed?

It has ngk bpr8es plugs and is the gen 3 ignition. It is as if it hits the wall at 6000 in the water. On out of the water it will go to the limiter 7200.

Check which impeller is installed. The part number is embossed on the side of the impeller hub.

Perhaps the wrong impeller pitch has been installed.

You can remove the jet pump to inspect or you can try peering up through the intake grate and looking back at the impeller. Will need a good light and eyes.

I will have to remove the pump as it is the "long" version
That is something that I will have to have a look when the new ss stator is in my hand at the end of next week 02/17/2017 so i will see what impellors i end up with and post the numbers.
Until then I will put up with it.

If memory serves, I had my 2000 Virage with the 700 single carb spinning around 6500 RPMs and broke 50 mph on the speedo.

Thats what I was expecting.... the pump stator is in transit it is off a genesis. I will post both impeller numbers before reassembling.

You need to post the impeller part number before assembly.

The Genesis impeller is gauranteed to be wrong for a 700.

Need to know if current impeller is also wrong.

That engine should spin 6700 rpm. The impeller/load is a big factor on RPM.

Still waiting for new pump stator. While waiting i confirmed the crank is in phase. Woodruff key is in place. The pump is out but there is no number on the impeller. It was reconditioned so maybe the numbers have been ground off.
The one coming has the number ending 131366 so as i thought it looks to be off a genesis.
A picture of my existing impeller. I measured it at 13/19 which i think is correct according to the solas website.
