What is a good price for a 717 motor rebuild

Hey guys what do you think is a good price for a 717 rebuild. I had a nasty oil leak and they say the seals on the crank failed i am having them do the top end while it is apart. Just curious what you guys think.

In uk I paid 1000 cash for full rebuild of a 787 rotax motor. That's pistons rods new crank all seals and gaskets.

They was me removing engine and taking to repair shop. To keep a bit of labour from the bill

So it sounds like they're putting in a new crank? I would do the whole thing with crank, top end, carb clean, fuel lines, pump inspection, bilge clean, and on water tuning for about $1500.

I have been told it's not worth just doing top end on them motors for the sake of a extra few 100. Considering down time and extra labour for the bottom end to fall apart in the future

The motor and labor to put it together will probably be around a $1000. To have them install the engine you're looking at another few hundred. I think it was very wise of you to have them to the top end too. If the carbs haven't been serviced now would be the time to do it.
