The VXR 2015+ models should hit about 62 to 64 MPH. They are a little slower than the previous years because the hull is little wider and generally handle better. All the reviews from places like boat test, all say 65 mph.

A dud? Possibly that machine you rode has some prop wear depending on what speeds you hit.

I have a VX HO (essentially the same machine as a VXR) and get 62.

They can easily go faster with a few mods.

    I have a 2016. Good water condition 62-63. After ribbon delete 65.

Acceleration up to 40mph is very good (faster than my friend 2007 SeaDoo RXT Supercharged) then he slowly passes me at 50 and gets to 70mph

This one must of had a problem because the acceleration was not that strong compared to my ultr 150 2 stroke....so which tune to you guys recommend for the 1.8 litre?

I can't speak to the tune question, but the Ultra 150 is a fast ski. 145 hp....and the ski is pretty light at only 615 lbs. The VXR is 185 hp but weighs a whole 150 lbs more. I don't know perf data from one to the next, but there may not be that much of a difference in acceleration and top end.

I reached 63,4 mph on GPS on my completely stock 2016 VXR, just after the break-in and with 2,5 hours on the clock. Cold weather though and I was running 93 Octane fuel (98 RON). However there was a slight drizzle in the air and I was in a big overall so not perfect for reducing drag and I didn't run it for long at top speed so might have been able to reach a little higher speed under different conditions.

For the upcoming season I will do the Ribbon delete, Power filter, Jim's plate and a Worx intake grate, will be interesting to see what it does.
