yes , that is what some do now instead of purchasing the rival steering column, you cut the stock colum down nd pin it. Some people powdercoat the handle bar and column and use colored anodized crossbars. Looks great, and is a lot cheaper.

I'm attempting to adapt a blowsion fat bar clamp from a superjet on my 15' fzr. I'm thinking I can just make an adapter plate from stock bar mounts to the blowsion clamp. Or maybe even just bolt right on (never that easy). Anybody ever think about trying this or even making one to sell so we don't have to spend 500-900 on a whole steering stem just to change the look of our skis?

Could be done. Cut the stock shaft drill and tap it make a plate and bolt it on.

i havent ripped mine apart yet but im assuming you pulled all the covers off, bars then took the telescope part off the steering stem and then had a 7/8 bar welded to the stem to accomodate the riser block?

this seems fairly simple and cheap to do. i like

The stock stem has to come out of the ski and machined flat, at this point you can chose any "riser" you want. There are endless styles available for snowmobiles, pivot, adjustable height, solid, also "Fat-Bar" styles. Then you drill and tap the stock stem so the riser bolts to the stem. Chose the handlebars of your choice.
