Pro-Blend 40 Below (or Stops Overheating)

    Is it safe to use Pro-Blend's 40 Below PN# 530 4033 (or Stops Overheating) PN# 530 4032 on a closed loop?

    Safe?..Yes!

However, its nothing but pre-blended (water) with their stuff in it. The best way to cool a motor is with plain bottled distilled water and add 4oz of Water Wetter, it doesn't get much better. But if you plan to use ski in Northern winters, stick with whats already in it as heat isn't going to be an issue anyways.

But the BEST way to keep an engine (and engine bay) cool is change the stock 189-degree thermostat and put in a 160-degree unit (sticking with open-loop).

Well, I am trying to not try open loop until a kit is available for the rxt-x 300 from Riva. So if it's safe, I believe water wetter AND the 40 below (ethylene glycol) together would be even better maybe? Water wetter improves the heat transfer of ethylene glycol. https://www.redlineoil.com/product.aspx?pid=74&pcid=10

I suggest water, olive oil, hand lotion and watter wetter. More is always better...right

Like I said, I'm trying to find a temporary solution, you could try to help, it would be more appreciated. I'm trying to keep my temp lower than 190 on a closed loop 300 with et 142 and 93 octane (maptuer x stave iv map) And I have the Riva thermostat upgrade from when I had the 135 (17.5#) wheel.

If what I asked does not work better you don't have to reply what you did and just say it won't make a difference, that would be enough.

Thanks for taking your time in replying.

    Really? Thats a first

I took the time and answered in detail and my answers don't come out of the "internet".....I've done setups in stock 190-degree cooling (with water wetter), closed loop with 160 degree thermostat and open-loop on these motors. I've data logged countless hours in all the mods I do, so I gave you the best answer from first hand experience. If you use water wetter and the other stuff you mentioned, you will NOT have better cooling. I would have said to use both if it was better. The more is better doesn't apply here.

    I'm out..

See, that wasn't that difficult now, was it?

Thank you for your time and explanarion. Exactly what I was looking for.

    Thanks again.

    EDIT:

Water Wetter already did some testing, showing it's best to do what you suggest. Top right chart on the PDF.

Thanks Sanfish, took your advice, I can now ride my ski without overheating while they complete the open-loop for the RXT-X 300
