Thanks man. Been trying to get this thing tuned, it is way too rich. Gonna try to raise the pop off and see where that gets me.

Never did post any pictures of it completed. During tuning the newly rebuilt crank separated after 3.5 hours of run time, so I had to completely tear down my brand new motor. Luckily it only cost me the crank, a piston, gaskets and crank seals and didn't take out my cases or cylinders. Ya know, only a small chunk of change to put it back together. But I have gotten the new engine broken in, and now to resume tuning when I get another chance. I am getting it closer, and man is it quick! Also put the stock tank back in after concerns of not making it through a 15 minute race due to fuel consumption haha. Had to heat up the stock tank and push it in to clear the front chamber. Maybe I will have enough time to get this thing tuned for Naples in November lol. Been busy with work and will be back in school in August.

Are these oem polaris type hooks? Which models did they come on? I don't think they yamaha type ones that I have will fit without cutting the seat base.

I honestly didn't notice any huge porpoising during the couple minutes it ran, but I probably didn't get to full speed and I was spending my time seeing how it cornered. But I am looking for another plate, stock to fabricate or aftermarket, to address this and make it ideal.

Good to know. Did you experience any trouble with a triple and the long driveshaft? Addressing what casey67 brought up.

Good thoughts. Mine does have that small toploader, but I am looking for a more aggressive one to help stay hooked up in the race chop. Any suggestions on which is best? I have seen the 750 one, a jet dynamics one, and an outlaw I believe it was called.
I see what you are saying on the driveshaft, but I don't think there is room to move the engine back 10". And wouldn't it make the ski porpoise worse if the weight is moved back? Isn't that what the long plates and hull extensions are trying to provide, more pressure on the nose?

Thanks for the thoughts. Keep them coming.

I have a 1300 motor anc a 1200 motor.the 1300 is fuel injected had a cylinder go down but I have a good cylinder and maybe piston,I have a complete 1200 gpr set up non power valve if your interested let me know,I am selling it all because I am doing a turbo'd gpr looking to go over 100 just on motor no nitrous but who knows welcome to green hulf it's an awesome site for sure with a lot of knowledge one can take in.

Sorry haven't been on here in a while. I ended up turning the carbs 90 degrees and running a linkage setup, along with running regular solid pickup tubes in the tank. Not sure which solved my turning bog problem, but that is gone now for the most part. When the course gets real rough, it'll sometimes bog, but feathering the throttle will bring it right back. Not sure what that is, but I'm chalking it up to good enough. Man does this thing rip, absolutely unreal buoy to buoy. At every stop on the Powerboat Nationals this year, it has been fastest or second fastest in timed qualifying. Problem is that during the main event, it needs a good rider, and that I am not lol. At the Pro Watercross National Championship last year in Charleston, I was running 2nd until about 3:30 in the video below when it started bogging. First PN video has quite a bit of 'cane action, brother rides it in the LCQ and main. He is a much better rider than I and actually makes the ski look good. Second video has a decent amount of footage of it, and the third is some backwards facing footage off of the ski. I should also have some gopro footage somewhere, I'll have to look. Could still use some tuning, especially on the top end. I richened it way up after hopping on it at the beginning of the season and it turning 8000 rpms. Between motor and pump tuning, I know it can be a 65 mph ski. I haven't put in the time to tune it myself or take it to LPW, but it does about 62 right now. There are a bunch of PN videos on youtube, and it is in most of the hydrocross videos from this year. These riders are the fastest in the country no doubt, several are top finishers at Havasu. So enjoy
