Wow that's crazy if he is able to get it to keep up with those aftermarket hulls in gp. The carbon fiber hull should be sweet

Just a small update. Got the hood shocks on. Used a pair of 50 lb, 10.25" compressed 17" extended shocks. I don't have the bars or the steering on, but they seem to be plenty strong. I don't have a picture, but I made a hood cover out of a 1/16" lexan sheet. Flexes easily, yet pretty strong. Should work good. Also sealed up all the holes from the old hood cover, trimmed the air intake tubes, and added this drain tube like I seen on another hurricane. Took the yamaha bed plates off of the engine bottom half I had, and put the 1 1/4" aluminum square bars between the mounting holes and the bed plates. Looks like it is going to be close. Still waiting on the tap so I can get the couplers done. Also have a hurricane support bearing on the way. Added in some more pictures of the hurricane.

Terminology note: The hood is held open by gas springs, not shock absorbers.

    Looks like a fun project!

Got the steering stem welded up, and put on a set of bars I had laying around. Worked out pretty good. Definitely cheaper and easier than buying and modifying an aftermarket set up

Got the exhaust pretty well done. Used a waveraider 1100 outlet and #1 waterbox. Used a gp1200 hose. Used the stock cane outlet hole, and drilled the second right along side it. All fit pretty well. Also a picture in its current state, with the hood cover on and some stickers removed.

Almost there. Just waiting on a few more things to finish it up. Only had to notch by the weatherstripping a little to make it easier to put the pipe on. Other than that, just had to drill holes for the ebox, and use a hole saw to cut a hole for the exhaust between the pipe and water box.

Finally got it out on the water. Runs and handles pretty good. I am getting 55 mph at 6500 rpm. I think with some more tuning and perhaps boring the nozzle I can get some more punch and maybe a little more speed.

    Ski looks good

Perhaps some new paint on the trailer would complete the look?
