RXT Supercharger removal ?
Is there a secret to remove the SC without moving the water box?
And if i have to remove the box, is it ok to pull up on the stainless exhaust pipe to get the connector hose off the water box?
RXT
Sorry I only have the rxp manual.
Thanks,
Griff

leave the exhaust pipe connected to the water box, index (with white out or marking paint pen) a line across exhaust manifold over clamp and onto pipe, so you have same exact orientation when your re-assembling. dis-connect both upper and lower water hoses between exhaust manifold and pipe. If you have stock rubber exhaust hose or aftermarket exhaust dis-connect at waterbox and either remove or put out of way. Then undo rubber hold down strap and slide water box pretty far back to make way when removing sc. That`s it...PR...

Good info PR. It can be a pain in the ass doing it that way but getting the exhaust out can be a project in it's self. Nothing time consuming just a lot of swearing and yanking strategicly. You don't realize how long the stainless pipe goes into the waterbox until you get it out. I had a tough time pulling the SC out of the PTO cover when i did it the first time so taking the exhaust out made that easier. Once you get it out and see how everything fits it gets easier to do.

The reason for not removing the exhaust pipe from the waterbox, is you don`t want to lose it`s exaqct position/orientation. If it is not lined up 100% when going backtogether, you chance the seal (bellows)(under the clamp) at the exhaust pipe failing from mis-alignment...PR...

no RTV silicone there, but if you removed any of the rubber hoses (exhaust) put a little silicone in the hose about 1" down and wipe around with your finger until there is a slightly heavy film of sealant all the way around, and then quickly assemble. silicone will skin in a few minutes if it is warm...PR...

Or get Mark to make you a shortened waterbox...I can slip my sc on and off without touching my exhaust...I forgot how crappy it was to have to remove the exhaust system...

The clutch looks OK! Pictures for reference. Now for a fresh set of spark plugs and swap out the fuel.
Last questions, (THANKS for the learning curve help!!!)
The 04 shop manual says to use superlube on the orings for the SC, superlube is clear, and the grease on the SC is blue? Is there something new for the 05's to use?
I scraped up the manifold were it meets the exhaust pipe flange when I was trying to pull the opposite end out of the water box. (Before removing it from the manifold). Is this ok? See picture.
How strong is the stainless steel bellow? I did wiggle it trying the dumb way.
Thanks,
Griff
