    New GTX 300 mods

    Hi all,
Picking up my new 2016 Gtx 300 soon Australian delivered. On paper they are reported to do 72 mph vs 68 against the US version tune. Is it worth doing an air box and Scom for this. I've been told they do 75- 76 after broken in. What gains would the Scom or 4 inch air intake give me.

I thought the international spec units didn't have a limiter on them vs the us spec ones?

International units are still speed limited to 72 mph

At a minimum you will want to install a SCOM and air intake, but performance would be way better with a MaptunerX ecu reflash. 75-76 should be attainable on the 3 seater with the SCOM and 4" Power Filter. Be sure to use the discount code: greenhulk in the GreenHulk store to save some money off of those parts.

Can anyone confirm the speed improvement from having a scom and catch can, then adding a power filter ?

I can verify that on a rxtx 300 with just a scom 75.9 mph gps 78 on speedo with my 225 lb ass in the saddle..im .adding the power filter and catch can in a few weeks....i think you should wait til after break in to add the scom from what ive read on here , but im no expert on these things

Adding a scom won't affect any part of the break in and can be installed day one with no issues at all. Secondly the catch can should be installed no questions asked before ever riding the unit. If you soak the intercooler with oil it's not effective and unless you take it apart to clean it will be impacted forever .
