Oil Change & Service Warning Alarm

I assume many here are changing their own oil but I was curious as to how they are getting the buds alarm cleared.

I know some aftermarket products can clear these codes (Canadoo). I will soon be getting my alarms but don't want to spend 300 bucks per ski + a 2 hour drive round trip to get a dealer to do it.

I'm at 50hrs on one and 54 on the other with no alerts yet. I assume that's because I had the oil changed once already after 10 hours on each ski. (So would the ECU push the alert around 60 hours in my case??)

I'll have the V-Tech Maptuner soon but I don't think I can clear service alarms/codes on that (or can I??).

What do you guys normally do to handle clearing the codes? Thanks!

I left it alone, there's no "codes" really, the service light pops on for about 30 seconds every time you fire it up then go away, my local dealer hooked it up and cleared it for me for free, the 50 hrs and the 100hrs all at once, I still do oil and filter every 25 hours. The map tuner will only tell you if there's real codes like a sensor failure or not hooked up

Roger that, I can live with that. Since I haven't seen it before I wasn't sure what was coming. Perfect. Thanks a bunch.

You can clear maintenance required light with maptuner, you might have to ask for the feature to be enabled for your VIN.

The maintenence required didn't even show up on my map tuner in the clear codes section, unless it's on the newer one, I have the now old version.

You have to ask them to enable it.

Will they / or can they after I've received it or do they need the maptuner sent in to do that? I'm hoping it's more of a license type of activation for my VIN's.
