    Oil pump scoring

So I have the motor out for mods and decided to have a look at the oil pump while I had things apart. I was a little surprised to see scoring, especially on the rear pump.

How bad does this look? Looks like the cover took the biggest hit, nothing found in the screen, the ski runs perfectly without any issues.

The rear cover is fairly cheap if it needs to be replaced.

What could cause this? '12 px

After seeing the rear I looked at the front, it also has some but not as significant as the rear. Again, the screen is clean.

I'm thinking of replacing the cover on the rear pump, since it's fairly, cheap and calling it a day.

    Opinion?

Which is less costly, an oil pump failure cratering your newly modded engine or an oil pump?

The rear gear looks alright, very faint hairline scratch. The front gear has two groves at the outer edge as visible in the pic. I could replace the front gear if required.
