2007 Yamaha FX HO won't turn when when I hit start.

    Hi,
I recently bought 2 2007 Yamaha FX HO, in not working conditions. Both show a red light warning on dash when I hit start but nothing happends, no click, no sounds. I hold the mode button for a time and doesn't show any error code. I alredy connect an scanner tools and the yamaha software never get a connection to the jet ski.
    Any help please?
    Thank you

Just guessing but does those skis have the remote key fob to put them in the lock security mode? Tommy Jordan

seized up impeller housing...see if you can turn the motor over by hand...or with a flat head screw driver by wedging it between the engine coupling and see if it rotates. or key fob

What is not much documented about the ignition behavior on that craft is that the ignition acts a little "differently" when you have a motor that does not spin. Normally, as the operator manual states, the ignition stays awake for an additional 30 seconds under two conditions : 1) AFTER the engine has been stopped (from previously running), or 2) after pressing the "unlock" button on the remote fob.

In regards to "previously running" condition, this means that the ECU must detect the engine (perhaps via the cam sensor) actually had been spinning more than actually running. In your case . . . your engines are not literally spinning during your start attempts right, thus the ignition is not staying active long enough by going back to sleep again within like 5 seconds! And this is not long enough to read a code, nor activate a YDS session. This is like a chicken & egg scenario in that you need the engines to physically spin during start attempts in order to fully wake that ECU up properly to get the 30 awake delay the manual talks about. So the other option (as someone already pointed out) is to hit "unlock" on your fob remote (if you have one).
