    Tips replacing output sleeve

    Any tips to removing both with spline tool and also if spines are too stripped taking pto cover off and removing that way

    About to start diving into it tomorrow and need some tips tricks

    Did you pull the motor out? It doesn't look like a fun thing to do inside the hull.

    No I'm going to try with motor in hull and take it to a tire place and get them to impact it and if there impact doesn't fit ill take motor out but want to try with it in

    Tips replacing output sleeve

    Good luck but I doubt that will work in the hull. Don't think they can even get an impact in that small area.

    I have done two of them and both require LOTS of heat. And if the splines are damaged you will end up cutting it off in some fashion.

    Put the crank in a big heavy duty vise and then use a 10 ft cheater pipe. Then it may come lose

    I did mine with engine strapped on work bench, pto cover off to use pipe wrench( splines were stripped) a lot of heat with good size blow torch and a 5ft extension tube.you can use help too. good luck, tough job.
