Come on yamaha give us back the old school fibre glass make the fx waverunners 100%.
You see how thin the material is, needs a bit more development.

I hate to see any ski damaged because I know how passionate us GH members are about them, but I really just want to point out that damage like this isn't just caused from "hard riding" and "rough conditions".
Looks like the racer impacted something, maybe hitting that crappy pipe support on the beach trailer pretty hard, which created small area of impact damage. This small damage was not noticed or ignored, then water/speed eventually opened it up on subsequent races to produce the damage. When I owned Sea-Doos, there were many threads with photos about "delaminating" hulls over on the Doo board. But overall, this is not a common thing on any PWC, especially with what we would consider normal consumer use. Racing these machines pushes the envelope and major stresses, which is why it's often not covered by warranty and generally not covered by standard insurance. That really applies for all machines, not just PWC. Bottom line, PWC racing is a tiny slice of the market; most consumers are not interested in abuse of their watercraft.

Why make excuses for people who beat the crap out of and abuse their machines then pretend its the manufacturer's fault. See what I did there?

Its not a "glide" up its according to the races I have watched its full speed to the beach they slide a pretty good ways up. Its wonder that the paint lasts a day. Maybe a couple more layers or paint or something hard n the part that "glides"
over the sand rocks and whatever happens to be there.

I can understand if you want to beach at full speed it will be broken.
You dont by a car drive it into a wall and then wonder why its all mashed up.
The fx has problem with the hull rec or race and it should happen, the ski should be fit for purpose.
Fz is a different story unless you are very good ride to use at speed in rough water takes a lot of energy skill.
To drag race you mates up and down the lake will be no problem for the hull or low skilled riders, long tours offshore seem to be an issue.

Are you kidding? wow, yea we all enjoy spending $15k+ mods and then just destroy our ski's with carelessness.... I'm done commenting on this. You guys know everything and have it all figured out and us guys who race are all reckless careless people who know nothing.

I love the ski and will continue riding/racing it so I wish everyone the best. Merry Christmas

    What a nightmare.
Yamaha repaired my 2016 fxsvho keel and the chimes.
It Last 20mins hull delaminated at sea and sunk.
Bought a Fx ho to stay in the water during Yamaha dragging there feet over this.
This is now losing patches off the outer nanocell wife has been using this.
Yamaha issued a credit note. Bought a 2017 Fx svho. I have 14hrs on it now inside deck is cracked under the air box and in front off the battery. Chimes have cracking already won't be long before delamination.
Why are they making these machine so weak.

Hi Kev I also have similar issue 2017 fx svho with 17 hours never beached once and ftreated like a baby I have attached pic of cracking on chimes at front of hull do you think pieces will fall off or is safe to use? I don't want to be lost at sea stranded on my own if the machine is not fit for purpose.
